Hundreds of Shia Muslims and Urmahs in the Tamale metropolis over the weekend held the annual Maulid festival, to commemorate the birth of FATIMAH ZAHRA, the daughter of prophet Mohammed (SWS).
The event was also used to pray for Allah’s blessings for the year. The Spiritual Leader and head of the Shia Muslim community in the northern region, Sheikh Abul-Mumeen Dalhu, addressing the Muslim Urmah, urged Muslim leaders to avoid shameful acts in the discharge of their religious duties.
According to him such shameful and disgraceful acts do not only destroy the leadership of Islam, also do not bring honor to Allah.
He also urged Muslim youth most to let the fear of Allah guide them by eschewing any form of evil and violence.

Dalhu called on Shias to use the occasion to ask for forgiveness of sins from
Allah, praise Allah for His mercies and protection and also praise FATIMAH
ZAHRA, the daughter of Prophet Muhammad.
He prayed for prevailed peace and togetherness in the Northern Region particularly
Dagbon.
