Minority leader hands over fully equipped Community based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound to residents of Gbambaya

The Member of Parliament for Tamale south Lawyer Haruna Iddrisu has handed over a fully equipped Community based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound to the Chiefs and people of Gbambaya in the Nyohani South electoral area of the Tamale metropolis.

The health facility constructed with a cost of 228,000 Ghana cedes is expected to serve the people of Gbambaya and nearby communities such as Shishagu, kulyenvela, and other communities along Nyenkpla road.

In a short ceremony attended by Mayor of Tamale metropolitan Assembly Iddrisu Musah Superior,Metropolitan Health Directorate as well as the Chiefs and people of Gbambaya, and the regent of choggu Naa Yakubu Mumuni.

The MP who double as minority leader in parliament admonished the people to own the facility. He said the people of Gbambay have always craved for a health facility so they should ensure that they make good use of the facility.

The minority leader touched on maintenance culture, however appealed to the people of Gbambaya to help maintain the facility for the benefit of future generations. He assured the people of the area that he will work closely with the assembly to get the main stretch linking Kulyenvela and Gbambaya, to be fixed.

In his short statement the metropolitan chief executive of Tamale,Iddrisu Musah Superior commended minority leader of parliament for taking his share of the MPs common fund to construct the facility, and assured that management of the assembly will take fully charge of the facility.

The Gbambaya CHPS compound was financed through the MP common fund and support by FGSS BANK, has two bedrooms with inbuilt washrooms, Kitchen, hall, Out – Patient Department (OPD) Consulting room, general ward, Records
