Lydia Alhassan visits Wuogon victims

The Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, Ms Lydia Alhassan, on Wednesday, 6 February 2019, visited the members of the main opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) who suffered gunshot wounds during the 31 January 2019 by-election which she won.

She presented an undisclosed amount of cash to the victims and prayed for their speedy recovery.

Some National Security operatives shot and wounded several NDC members at the private residence of the party’s candidate at La-Bawaleshie about an hour into the by-election.

Official communication from police said six persons sustained gunshot wounds.

No death was recorded.

The police have begun a full-scale probe to identify the gunmen who were masked and to bring them to book.
