Kumbungu MP commissions’ 3-unit classroom block for Gumo Primary School

The Member of Parliament for Kumbungu Constituency, Dr Adam Hamza has handed over a three-unit classroom block and an office complex to the staff and pupils of GUMO D/A Primary School of the Kumbungu District.

The MP at a short ceremony on Thursday, 18th February, 2021 commissioned the newly constructed project for use.

Dr Hamza explained that the completion of the School is in fulfillment of a pledge he made to the community members of Gumo during the 2020 general elections, who personally informed him about their inability to complete the School project which they started with their own resources several years ago.

He said the provision of the educational infrastructure is part of his determination to uplift the face of the educational sector in the Kumbungu District.

The Kumbungu MP also mentioned that education is key to every development; hence he has decided to make education a priority as an MP for the betterment of every child in the area.

Dr Adam Hamza while addressing the media also promised to provide the school with furniture to enhance teaching and learning.

On the maintenances culture, Dr Hamza advised both the teachers and the community members to pay attention to the facility and put it into good use.

“I am also appealing to both teachers and community members to pay good attention to the facility and ensure it is put into good use so that in future when we come back here we will be happy with the state of the building”, he appealed.

On his part the acting Kumbungu Distirct Education Director, Sayibu Mahamoud commended the MP for giving education in the district the needed push to improve quality education delivery.

He said the district education directorate would continue to work closely with the MP to solve the furniture challenges facing some schools in the district.
