Kpandai District Education directorate cries for school furniture and accommodation for teachers

The District education director for Kpandai, Madam Faustina Nayan says the lack of furniture for basic schools and accommodation challenges for teachers were hampering quality teaching and learning in the district.

She lamented that, children lay on the bare floor during lessons and are enable to concentrate adequately. This she added often results in their poor performance in the Basic Education Certificate Examination.

Speaking at a forum with members of the Kpandai District School Management Committee SMC network, Madam Nayan appealed to the SMCs and PTAs of various schools to consider providing some form of accommodation within the communities for teachers.  

She said teachers in the Kpandai Districts are hardworking and willing to give out their best to improving on the standards of education, but are obstructed by the lack of accommodation.  

The District Chief Executive for Kpandai Atta Emmanuel Kofi Tatabilata urged Chiefs and opinion leaders across the District to increase supervision to the various schools to ensure effective academic work.

He urged parents and community members not to approach teachers violently anytime they feel the teacher had gone wrong.

The School Management Committee SMCs has the responsibility to strengthen community participation and mobilization for quality basic education delivery across the district.
