Kpalsi community catalogue a wide range of development challenges; They are crying to government for help!

Residence of Kpalsi in the Sagnarigu Municipality of the Northern Region are appealing to the authorities to come to their aid as the community is bedeviled with many challenges; key among these as deplorable roads, lack of health care and education for their children.

The community contends that they had to live with the challenge for the past year, and this was affecting their lives.

Speaking to Diamond News, a resident, Mohammed Adams who spoke about poor healthcare system said the only polyclinic in the whole community is a private facility and this has made it very difficult for them to receive medical attention because they can’t afford to pay their bills since most of them are farmers.

According to Mohamed, the poor nature of their road is also contributing to health challenges like asthma and other heart related diseases due to the dusty nature of the road.

He said the road has been in such poor state since 1992 and only gets attention in the form of surface dressing when its time for election, but soon after is ignored.

Unavailability of streetlight also makes it dangerous to ply that road at night.

Mohamed added that with only one  public toilet for the entire community’s use, it becomes very difficult for most community members to join a long queue to get access to the toilet and due to this, open defecation has become the norm and he fears that could lead to more sanitation related diseases for the community.

Another resident of Kpalsi, Abdul Rahman Issahaku hammered on the lack of educational facilities in the community. The only school he added is a private school and most parents can’t afford it due to financial crisis. The residences therefore are calling on government and N.G.Os  to come to their aid.
