Islamic Cleric wants Dagombas to eschew violence and live by the peace tenets as preached by their faith

An Islamic scholar in the Tamale metropolis, Sheik Amin Asawaba has admonished the people of Dagbon to eschew differences and allow peace to prevail.

According to the renowned sheik, is important for many of the Dagomabas who are believers in the Islamic faith to leave exemplary lives for others to follow.

Sheik Amin made the called at his Mosque during Friday’s congregation prayers. Sheik Amin Asawaba who is leader of the Masjedule Tahaleen mosque, reminded people of Dagbon that, Islamic Religion forbade Muslims from insulting their fellow Muslims, let alone to attack or even kill one another.

He also asked Dagbon natives to shun arrogances and be humble towards one another, saying ALLAH forgives those who respect the views of others.

‘’This is what the Qur’an prescribes for us. Let those who emulate, emulate examples like this’’

‘’Arrogance is not a virtue and I implore each of you to be humble in all your endeavors’’.

‘Pride always comes before a fall and the Prophet Muhammad (Peace Be upon Him) always called on us to be humble. Arrogance is a virtue of Shaitaan and we must discard it’’

Torching on the incidents that occurred at Yendi that resulted in one death and others being wounded Sheik Amin described the incident as unfortunate and added that Allah would never forgive those whose action and inaction’s hurt others.

He also charged his fellow IMAMS in the Dagbon traditional area, not to hide from the truth,  but preach peace to their followers, adding that Allah would not forgive any IMAM who failed to spread the word of God.
