Inaccessibility to water affecting Agricultural growth in the North-founder of Samak agri-business

Co-founder of Samak Agribusiness, Samuel Kofi has said that the lack of access to water for all year round farming is a major challenge to the development of agriculture in Northern Ghana and a threat to food security in Ghana.

He lamented that; engagement of people into agribusinesses is terminated once the only rainy season in the North comes to an end since such ventures cannot continue production.

Speaking to Diamond news in an interview, Samuel Kofi urged government to roll out agronomic policies that are targeted at supporting commercial and medium scale farmers to enable them provide employment and market to small scale farmers.

Samak Agribusiness brings together people and skills needed to build a robust supply chain of agricultural production through sound agronomic practices, mechanization services and training.
