IMTIYAAZ COLLEGE OF EDUCATION an Arabic institute holds its maiden Matriculation

IMTIYAAZ COLLEGE OF EDUCATION an Arabic institution in the Northern Region on Thursday, December 2, 2019, held a matriculation ceremony to welcome over 820 newly admitted students into the college.

The Principal of the College, Dr Ahmed Alhaji Abdallah Jaabo, in his address congratulate the fresh men and women for their ardent performance to qualify for admission into the college, which is the only Arabic college in the country.

Dr Ahmed further admonished the matriculates to contribute their quota to enhance the image of the college, to participate fully in all activities and be committed to their studies. He further encouraged the students to own the institution and ensure that their conduct remain a compliment to the development of the College.

The Principal of the College addressing the matriculates, however warn that, “Management of the College will not tolerate any negative behavior most especially those within Tamale, because majority of you are here because of National Service allowances which the college will not condone”.

“We admitted you here to guide you on how to speak Arabic Language, and Arabic teaching technics, to serve as Arabic instructors at the various Muslim communities in the country. Therefore, stop thinking about national service allowances and focus on your studies”, he advised.

He indicated that IMTIYAAZ COLLEGE OF EDUCATTION was established to train Arabic instructors on modern technics in Arabic teachings, to serve the needs of Muslim communities and beyond.

Dr Ahmed said most students at the Islamic schools in the country cannot expressed themselves in Arabic language, which is very unfortunate. “I want you after graduating from this institution as Arabic instructors, to change the current trend at the Islamic schools”, he charged. 

Northern Regional Manager of the Islamic Education Unit, Sheikh Alhassan Issah,in his address, commended the matriculates, saying “management of the college is fully aware of what it takes to sustain private educational institution”.

He said management has since taken the necessary steps towards ensuring the College gained the recognition and accreditation, adding that “management of the college is committed on getting the college accredited”.

“We are putting more efforts to improve Arabic teachings in the region”, he stated.
