I’ll score Mion MP Mohammed Abdul Aziz 10% – Dr.Mu-awiyah

An aspiring parliamentary candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for Mion constituency, Dr. Mu-awiyah  Zakaria, has scored the NDC member of parliament for the constituency Mohammed Abdul Aziz  10% in his two and half years in charge of the constituency.

According to the NDC parliamentary hopeful, the incumbent NDC MP has failed to develop all sectors in the constituency.  He mentioned education, health and infrastructure as key priority areas for the people in the area that should have been looked at by the incumbent MP. He said the MPs overall performances in terms of these are what he has scored him 10% out of 100%.

He added that Mion constituency is underdeveloped because the people in the area do not have a good representative parliament.

Speaking on Diamond FM, Dr. Mu-awiyah also criticized the Member of Parliament for Mion for his inability to lobby the authorities to facilitate the provision of developmental projects in the area saying the situation in the constituency has worsened under the watch of the current MP.

Dr.Mu-awia who is vying to lead NDC in the Mion constituency for the second time after a shock defeat in  2015 to the incumbent NDC MP Abdul Aziz. He said he will unite the party when given the mandate, saying the incumbent MP has failed the constituency and that he will work hard to unite the NDC members in the constituency.

Dr. Mu-awia further claimed that he has been very supportive to the people in the constituency; “I have done several things in support of the people, I have been supporting the party in the constituency in many ways, I can’t say everything here, the constituents have seen my efforts to the party that is why they called on me to represent them”, He said.

“Mion has been our seat for several years, and so it is good to look for a dependable candidate like me to retain it. I will empower the youth in this constituency through education to make them successful in life, because our MP Mohammed Abdul Aziz has failed to do it”, he added.  

He said he will also provide the people of Mion with snakebite medication to treat emergency cases in the area.
