“I wasn’t treated fairly during the campaign” – Defeated MP of Tolon Cries Out

The defeated Member of Parliament for the Tolon Constituency Hon Wahab Suhuyini Wumbei has accused both regional and constituency executives for his defeat on the just ended parliamentary primaries in the constituency.

The Tolon MP who lost his ticket to the Deputy Director of the Ghana Free Zones Board at the Tema Processing Zone, Alhaji Habib Iddrisu, in the governing New Patriotic Party’s parliamentary primaries held on Saturday, 20th June 2020, said even though he has accepted defeat but then, he wasn’t happy about the treatment he received from the executives during the campaign.

He indicated that Alhaji Habib winning the Primaries does not mean that the NPP automatically is winning the seat in the Tolon constituency. Hon Wahab speaking to diamondfmonline.com after his defeat revealed that, there are a lot of cracks within the NPP in the Tolon constituency saying, “going forward we need to resolve our differences before December 7.

“The fact that he has just been chosen as PC for Tolon does not mean the seat is going to be won by NPP. We need to patch up our differences because there are a lot of cracks in the party. We need to resolve a lot of differences between myself, the constituency executives and the regional executives, because, I am not being treated fairly during the campaign. So, we need to sit-down and resolve issues so that we can be able to work together”, he lamented.

Honorable Wahab Suhuyini Wumbei polled 164 votes at the just ended NPP parliamentary elections losing to Alhaji Habib who polled 338 votes.
