Health worker and young politician; Ahmed Fareed, who died in a motor crash, laid to rest in Tamale

The mortal remains of Ahmed Fareed was laid to rest at the Tamale Cemetery on Wednesday following a motor accident in which he died.

The news of Fareed’s death was received with shock on the airwaves in Tamale and on social media, as it was reported that he couldn’t survive a motorbike crash while riding to work at the Karaga Health Centre on Wednesday morning.

He was buried in line with Islamic customs.

The late Ahmed Fareed, in his 30’s was an avid sympathizer of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) and an active member of the Tamale North MP, Alhassan Suhuyini’s campaign team.

Prior to being transferred to Karaga in 2018, Ahmed Fareed was an Assistant Public Relations Officer at the Tamale Teaching Hospital.

He attended SDA Basic School and later the Tamale Technical University, from the Ghana Senior High School where he had his secondary education.

Large crowd of mourners; family, friends in the media, health workers and politicians joined as the hearse carried his mortal remains to the cemetery.
