GOVERNMENT TO PURSUE PRUDENT MACROECONOMIC POLICIES FOR A STABLE ENVIRONMENT, SAYS FINANCE MINISTER AS HE PRESENTS 2019 BUDGET.

Finance Minister Ken Ofori Atta has said government will continue to pursue prudent macroeconomic policies for a stable environment that will lead to expanded economic opportunities for job creation, growth and development.

He indicated that, government in accordance with the Public Financial Management Act, 2016 (Act 921) will pursue growth objectives policies without compromising fiscal consolidation.

Presenting the 2019 Budget statement in Parliament which the NPP government titled as; “Putting Ghana Back To Work,” the Finance Minister, Ken Offori Atta, also revealed that, total revenue and grants for 2019 is estimated to be about 58.9 billion Ghana cides.

He said domestic revenue is estimated at about 57.8 billion Ghana cedis. The Finance Minister indicated that, the estimates reflects the impact of expected improvement in tax compliance and reforms in revenue administration.

Senior government officials including the Vice President Dr. Muhammad Bawumia, Senior Minister Yaw Osafo Maafo, Minister of Justice and Anthony General Gloria Akuffo and host of other government appointees were present in Parliament.
