GJA holds memorial for slain investigative journalist, Ahmed Soale

The Ghana Journalists Association has held a memorial service and forum for the late investigative journalist, Ahmed Hussein-Suale, a member of Tiger Eye Investigations Team.

The event at the Ghana International Press Centre, was also to draw public attention to the unwarranted attacks on the media.

Journalists and media practitioners, family and friends of the late investigative journalist as well as government officials including Deputy Information Minister, Pius Enam Hadzide attended the memorial service.

The Ghana Journalists Association says it hopes to immortalize the murdered journalist, Ahmed Hussein-Suale by naming the Investigative Journalist of the Year category of its annual awards after him.

GJA President Affail Monney who addressed the memorial, added that the association is yet to conclude on the modalities for the category which will be a fitting tribute to Ahmed. He however urged the police not to relent with efforts at exposing the perpetrators.

Ahmed Hussein-Suale was on, January 16, this year shot dead by some unknown assailants at Madina around the Taxi Rank near the Catholic Church on his way home. Hussein-Suale was a lead investigator with Anas Aremeyaw Anas’ Tiger Eye PI.
