Ghana celebrates 62 independent day tomorrow, March 6.

A national parade of security services and school children would take place at the Alhaji Aliu Mahama Sports stadium here in Tamale tomorrow Wednesday, March 6, to commemorate Ghana’s Independence day celebration.

President Nana Akuffo Addo, his vice; Alhaji Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia, ministers of states and other high profile personalities are already in Tamale ahead of tomorrow’s big event which would also be graced by important dignitaries including the President of Niger, Mahamadou Issoufou.

The 62 independence day celebration is under the theme “Celebrating Peace and Unity,” and the Northern Region is the first region outside Accra, the national capital to host the parade since Ghana gained independence from the British Colony in 1957.

Traditional rulers, youth groups and the indeed the general public are expected to fill the Aliu Mahama stadium for the memorable, catchy and remarkable event.

Tamale and the adjourning Sanarigu Municipality are already charged, eager and anxious for Wednesday’s historic parade.

Already the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium venue of this year`s independence day parade, has been given massive facelift and the entire Metropolis has been inundated with various forms of decoration. The ceremonial streets are also awash with the national colors.
