GFA VS OLYMPICS CASE ADJOURNED TO NEXT WEEK

An Accra High Court has adjourned the case involving the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and Accra Great Olympics football club.

The case involves an injunction rite sought by Olympics after they felt shortchanged by the GFA in their case against Bechem United in the Ghana Premier League last season who they thought used an unqualified player to beat Elmina Sharks.

Olympics were seeking that Bechem United be declared losers of the said match so that they will benefit and stay in the premier league. However, the Disciplinary Committee and Appeals Committee both ruled against Olympics in the said case.

With this, Ghana football is set for hard times ahead after the Accra High Court adjourned the case to Wednesday February 21st, 2018.

The two parties were represented by their lawyers on Tuesday when the case was called and after the initial submissions, the trial judge adjourned the case to next week.

Great Olympics (aka The Wonder club) are challenging their relegation from the country’s elite division claiming Bechem United fielded an unqualified player during their league match against Elmina Sharks last season.

The latest standoff means the delay in the start of the league will continue until a resolution is reached between the two parties.
