Four Municipal and District Chief Executives from the Northern Region are receiving treatment at the Tamale Teaching Hospital after they were involved in a serious accident on Monday (June 24) morning.
They are Issah Musha, MCE for Gushegu, Abdallah Mohammed Hashim, DCE for Mion, Abdulai Yacoub, MCE for Nanumba North and Ahmed Abukari Iddrisu, DCE for Zabzugu.
Northern Regional Minister, Salifu Saeed, who confirmed this to journalists in Tamale, said the accident happened around Datoyili, on the Tamale – Kumasi Road.
The four MDCEs were on board a Nissan Patrol, which somersaulted after it crashed with a Benz bus travelling from the Kumasi direction towards Tamale.
The MDCEs were travelling to Wa to join President Nana Akufo-Addo to launch the Rearing for Food and Jobs programme.
GNA visited the Accident and Emergency Ward of the TTH and met MCE for Savelugu and DCE for Nanton, who said two of the MDCEs were stabilised while two others were undergoing X-Ray examinations.
It was suggested that on the advice of doctors at TTH, the MDCEs could be airlifted to Accra for further treatment.
