Former YEA recruits in Tamale lament over unpaid arrears

Former beneficiaries of the Youth in fire service Module under the Youth Employment Agency YEA in the Tamale metropolis have express concern over the undue silence of manager of the YEA regarding their arrears.

The affected beneficiaries, who were engaged for a 24-month period under the Youth in fire service module, claim they only received 4 months salaries, but all efforts to meet management of YEA, to resolve the lingering arrears had proved futile.

The Youth Employment Agency engage the beneficiaries for a two years contract, which started on 15th July 2016, and end on 15th July 2018, however majority of beneficiaries are accusing management of the YEA in the Northern Region of extorting five Ghana cedis each from each affected former personnel before taking back accoutrements in their possession.

The NPP administration under former President John Kufour, designed the program to fill in the gaps with the high unemployment situation among the youth in the country.

However some of the frustrated beneficiaries who spoke to Diamond News, claim they have played their task assigned them as employees of YEA, but the agency is failing to pay them and it has been for 20 months.

Some lament that life had not been easy for them since the YEA is silence their arrears.

In fact Ghana has a long way to go,why because if I imaging the small pay of just 250 Ghana only.Whereby the government is not willing to pay.The youth must stop schooling because our leaders has nothing good to us. You can imaging 12 months without a pay.
