FELICIA TETTEY SUBMITS NOMINATION FORMS TO CONTEST SAGNARIGU NPP PRIMARIES

The Northern Regional First Vice Chairperson of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Felicia Tettey has promised to unseat the current Member of Parliament for Sagnarigu constituency A.B.A Fuseini when given the nod to lead the party in the constituency.

Felicia Tettey who is aspiring to be parliamentary candidate for the ruling New Patriotic Party for Sagnarigu constituency, made these remarks after presenting her nomination forms at the Sagnarigu NPP office to contest the upcoming parliamentary primaries.

This will be the first time Felicia Tettey, who doubles as Northern Regional Coordinator of the school feeding program is contesting to lead the party in the Sagnarigu constituency.

She is optimistic of sailing through as the party’s candidate for the polls and believes her gains will embarrass current MP during the 2020 polls because he will never have the opportunity to be Member of Parliament for the constituency again.

Mrs Tettey stated that though Sagnarigu is perceived to be the preserve of the opposition NDC, but with a competent person like her, the ruling party was capable of capturing the constituency.

“Today, I am happy to announce to the good people of Sagnarigu that am in the contest to win, because there is a perception that Sagnarigu belongs to NDC. I stand to challenge it because for how long will the people of Sagnarigu continue to vote for a party that does not think of their progress and development? The time has come for the people of Sagnarigu to realize that we the NPP stand for development and if you have to attribute it to the leadership of his Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akuffo Addo. His initiatives, you can say it is clear that, the NPP is for development and if you are for development I am all out to support you for us to grow together and I believe if we stand as one, Sagnarigu will be in the pipe line of development” she stated.

Addressing the media at the premises of the party office at Katariga of the Sagnarigu Municipality, Mrs Tettey, unveiled her vision for the constituency. She also underscored the need for the delegates in the constituency to eschew tribal and religious or gender affiliations, but rather should vote for a candidate who is capable of winning the seat for the party come 2020.

“A time has come for you people to realize that it is not all about electing somebody based on tribal or religious reasons, but vote for a competent person. I therefore use this medium to plead for the good delegates of Sagnarigu to consider me on the day of elections, I Felicia Tettey, I stand for development” she stated.

Mrs Felicia, speaking then called on her fellow women in the Sagnarigu constituency to rally behind her to develop the area.

Several personalities including her husband Francis Tettey, the mayor of Tamale, Iddrisu Musah Superior and hundreds of NPP supporters in Sagnarigu constituency were at the party secretariat to witness her filing.

The NPP opened nominations on Saturday, 20 July, 2019 and so far three persons have picked up the forms to contest the upcoming parliamentary elections in Sagnarigu. They are Felicia Tettey, Abu Fawzia and Hawa Musah.
