Elect leaders who will champion peace and development-Kampakuya Naa to NPP Delegates

The regent of Dagbon, Kampakuya Naa Yakubu Andani, has urged delegates of various political parties in the region, to vote for who were peaceful, and had the development of the area.

According to the regent, the northern region could see a downward trend in terms of development, if conscious efforts are not made to select leaders who could rally all sides to push for development of the area.

In a brief remark after endorsing the incumbent chairperson of the NPP in the northern region, Daniel Bugri Naabu after a courtesy call on him, Kampakuya Naa Abdulai Andani, implored on delegates, to choose leaders, who will champion the peace and rapid development in the area.

“Consider voting for leaders, who will promote peace in our region. This is necessary because, no meaningful development or government intervention can thrive, if there are pockets of violence, caused by people we vote for. Rather choose those who will ensure the realization of government policies”, the regent pleaded.

Daniel Bugri Naabu is seeking a second term bid, after securing close to fifteen seats from the party from the opposition NDC, in the 2016 polls.

Bugri Naabu assured the overlord of Dagbon, of maximum peace in the run-up to, during and even after the party’s internal elections.

He lauded the concerns of the regent as legitimate, stating that the party needed competent men and women who can unify all, and not leaders who will sow a seed of discord between the rank and file, and even with the opposition parties.

“ Before I came, every day we were under curfew, every day they were killing us but since I came, it has all stopped” he noted.

The NPP Regional Chairman who was accompanied by feleicia Tetteh who is also seeking to be elected as a vice chair in the region and their campaign team, also paid courtesy calls on the Bolinglana, Mahamadu Abdulai and Gundo-Naa Samata, to seek their blessings.

The NPP, head’s to the polls on the 21st of February, to elect constituency and regional executives, who will steer the affairs of the party for the next four years.
