Education Minister outlines processes for the reopening of school.

Final year students in Senior High Schools, returning to school on June 22, are to undertake 6 weeks of learning cum revision to adequately prepare them for their examinations in the first week of August.

Education minister and MP for Manhyia South, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh who announced this during a presser in Accra, added the final year students together with their teachers should observe all the WHO and GHS protocols to avoiding corona virus.

These include wearing of masks, handwashing with soap and observing social distancing.

Moreover, Basic certificate examination (BECE) candidates who are expected to return to school on June 29 would devote 11 weeks to studies and the 12th week in school for their exams.

Earlier Dr. Opoku Prempeh spoke about preparations for universities to be opened for only final year students.

It would be recalled that President Nana Akuffo Addo, in his 10th address to the nation on the COVID-19 pandemic, announced the easing of restrictions which he explained were based upon data and other considerations.

The president had indicated that the gradual opening up the country is a measure to return to normal lives since the virus would live with us for a very long time.
