DIAMOND FM’S ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE LIVE SHOW KICKS OFF

The maiden English Premier League (EPL) Diamond FM live show was on during the round 11 matches of the EPL on Saturday and Sunday.

As a result regular sports programmes like Diamond Sports Avenue on Saturday and “Dema ni yigjem saha” on Sunday were all dedicated to live commentary from our partners Citi FM.

The good news to our listeners is that unless on weekends of international breaks, the rest of the 27 English Premier League matches will be live on Diamond FM on air and online at www.diamondfmonline.com

In our featured commentary game on Sunday, Alvaro Morata scored his first goal since September as Chelsea deservedly beat Manchester United to move a point behind the Red Devils in the Premier League.

Morata escaped the attentions of United’s defenders to find yards of space and beat goalkeeper David de Gea from Cesar Azpilicueta’s cross in the 55th minute.

Here are reactions from the two managers.

Chelsea Coach Antonio Conte was satisfied with a “good win” on the day.

Meanwhile after the weekend round of matches, Slaven Bilic was sacked as West Ham manager with the team in the Premier League relegation zone.

Bilic’s last game in charge was Saturday’s 4-1 defeat by Liverpool at London Stadium.

A statement from West Ham said the club believed a change was necessary “to move forward positively and in line with their ambition.”
