DIAMOND FM DAMBA FESTIVAL FUN GAMES SET TO TAKE PLACE ON SATURDAY

The Diamond FM Damba Festival fun games for 2019 comes off this Saturday 16th November, 2019 at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium Annex at 7:00am.

The event which is in its third year running brings together the various political parties in the region, tribes who are playmates and the general public who have always thronged the venue to grace the occasion. The side attraction for this year’s event is the Gold Ball Competition for members of the Ghana Blind Union. The Sagnarigu and Tamale Metro teams will face each other in the Gold Ball competition.

This year’s event is also expanded to include other tribes such as Gonjas vs Grushies, Frafras vs Dagaabas and the usual Dagombas vs Moshies.

Two other political parties that is the Convention People’s Party (CPP) and the Peoples National Convention (PNC). The first match of the day will see CPP coming up against PNC at 7:00am.

At stake is a giant trophy for the winner of this competition donated by the Chairman of the Regional Football Association (RFA), Alhaj Abu Hassan Rhyzos. At a short presentation of four trophies during the Diamond Power Drive Program on Friday, Alhaj Rhyzos said the other three trophies are to be presented to the Best Player, Top Scorer and Best Goalkeeper. Alhaj Rhyzos also presented an envelope containing GHC 300 as part of the corporate social responsibility of the RFA in the region. He said his doors are open for further engagement on football development in the region from the Diamond FM perspective.

The climax of the series of activities in commemoration of the Damba Festival is the blood donation on Monday 18th November, 2019 at the premises of Diamond FM at 7:00am.
