Dataling Zoozugu community in Tamale South constituency receive cash support from the NPP’s PC for a water project

The NPP’s parliamentary candidate for Tamale South Yakubu Yussif, has presented GHC 5,600 to the chiefs and people of Dataling Zoozugu, a farming community in the Tamale Metropolis for extension of pipe water into the community.

The donation is in response to an appeal by the community to the NPP PC during one of his community engagements in the area.

Dataling Zoozugu which is three kilometers drive from Tamale Township has been facing water challenges for decades especially in the dry season where women and children have to travel long distances for potable water.

The over 1500 inhabitants of the community depend on a standpipe line situated outside the community that was initiated by state housing cooperation, which has a housing project in the area.

Addressing the chiefs and elders on behalf of the PC, Alhaji Tahiru, chairman of Tamale South NPP Council of Elders who led the delegation to present the cash on behalf of the PC, said the aspiring MP had been putting in a lot of efforts to ensure the people of Tamale South constituency were relieved from their suffering.

He said the NPP stands for development hence the NPP PC will advocate for the people of Tamale South. Alhaji Tahiru asked the people of Zoozugu to change their voting pattern by giving their mandate to the NPP PC come December 7.

“You have been leaving with this water challenges for over sixteen years, and you have an MP who does not care about your wellbeing. Yakubu Yussif only visited you last week and you pleaded with him to support to extend pipe water into the community and here we are today to present the money you requested from him so that you can start the work. This is the kind of people you should be giving your mandate to, but not someone who will only remember you only when its elections season,” he stated.

He indicated that the member of parliament for Tamale South, lawyer Haruna Iddrisu has taken the people of Tamale South for granted and “it is only you who will stand up and say enough is enough, and give your mandate to Yakubu Yussif for more development.”

On his part the chief of Dataling Zoozugu, Naa Abdul Rahaman Nindow who received the money thanked the NPP PC for responding quickly to his pleas.
