The death is announced in Tamale of one of the renowned upcoming coaches in the Northern Region, Coach Mohammed Abdallah (Mbe Ablai).

This sad event occurred on Saturday night at the Tamale Teaching Hospital after a short illness. He has since been buried on Sunday at a short burial service in line with Islamic Traditions at the Tamale Central Cemetery.

He was the elder brother of Mohammed Bashiru (aka Joe Baah), a former goalkeeper and now a coach of Soccer Missionaries Academy.

Speaking in an interview with Diamond Sports, Coach Joe Baah lamented the lose of his brother and said “he was the one who pulled me into women football management with his role at Savanna Ladies.” He prayed for his brother to “find favour in the Almighty Allah.”

Coach Abdallah was coach and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Savanna Ladies, a division one women football club in the Northern Region. He guided them to the round of 32 of the Sanford Women FA Cup competition as they are due to face women football powerhouse Ampem Darkoa Ladies, had it not been for the Anas Aremeyaw Anas expose on corruption in Ghana football, that has halted football activities in Ghana, that tie would have been played already.

Coach Abdallah is survived by a wife and four children, one boy and three girls.

Until his untimely death he was the Under 15 coach of Tamale Utrecht Football Academy, a side he successfully guided to the ultimate in the maiden edition of the national under 15 national league in 2016.
