BLACK MAIDENS BEGIN THEIR SIXTH SUCCESSIVE WORLD CUP CAMPAIGN ON TUESDAY NIGHT

The Female national Under 17 team, the Black Maidens of Ghana will kick off their sixth successive FIFA Under 17 tournament in Uruguay tonight against the host nation. The group A fixture will start at about 22:00GMT.

The Black Maidens held an official training session at the Estadio Charrua, Montevideo on Sunday evening.

All the 21 players actively took part in Sunday’s training session with the training session ending without any injury.

The team again trained on Monday evening at the Club Rentistas stadium at 17:00pm – 18:30pm local time.

Team news from camp indicates that the players are ready for a showdown with the host nation in the first match. This was confirmed by assistant coach of the side Baba Nuhu Mallam.

The other group A game will see New Zealand and Finland face each other at the same venue.

Elsewhere, Mexico will play South Africa in a group C opener with Brazil also taking on Japan all at the Estadio Domingo Burgento Miguel in Maldonado.

The Black Maidens of Ghana will be in their red and yellow jersey for Tuesday’s U 17 World Cup opening match against Uruguay.

The tournament hosts will be in sea blue shirts and black shorts for the Group A opener. Ghana’s goalkeepers will be in dark green shirts and shorts with the Uruguay’s in light green.
