The match publicized Betway Talent Search is underway at the Northern School of Business (Nobisco) sports oval in Tamale.
The exercise is aimed at screening and selecting players within the ages of 18 to 25years. Players from across the region are gathered here to try their mettle for consideration by the technical team in charge of the process.
Over five hundred players from across the three northern regions are participating in the search to become future greats in Ghana football.
The two day event is aiming at uprooting the finest future stars from the grass roots in football.
With the tag lines in Betway’s believe that ‘Every legend starts somewhere’ and ‘Greatness exists in Ghana’, the players assembled have a firm conviction that they are in for greatness.
The event has former Ghana international star Stephen ‘Tornado” Appiah as one of the ambassadors.
Speaking on Diamond FM’s Yelivuhi Saha Show,on Thursday morning, the media liaison officer of Betway, Fred Nii called on all players who took forms that were earlier circulated to come and justify themselves for consideration.
Fred Nii further added that aside the talent search, there are other side attractions featuring fan games involving obstacles in which patrons can win fantastic prizes.
About 24players are earmarked for selection and will further be assembled in Kumasi for another justify exercise.
Selected players have an opportunity to play for any of the Ghana premier league sides sponsored by Betway. There is also an opportunity for a contract with a foreign club in future just may be.
The final selection day will be on Sunday when the event will end.
The Diamond Sports Avenue Programme for Saturday will be hosted live from the Nobisco Park from midday.
