BASTIE SAMIR AND BRAIMAH KAMOKO’S REMATCH LIKELY TO BE STAGED IN TAMALE

The much awaited rematch between Bastie (Doobia) Samir and Braimah Kamoko (Bukom Banku) is scheduled to take place on June, 30th 2018 at a yet to be determined venue. Organisers and promoters of the bout are still deliberating on the perfect venue for the fight with close sources pointing towards the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in Tamale.

Should the bout be staged in Tamale, it will mark a historic feat in the sport of boxing in the Northern Region as a tale of two workaholic boxers is set to ignite once more. When the two boxers faced off back in October, 2017, the attention of the boxing fraternity and even pseudo-followers of the sport were that of excitement as the two were both undefeated at the time. Now that ‘undefeated’ tag belongs only to Bastie (Doobia) Samir as he emerged tops in the said bout via a seventh round technical knockout.

This time, the fight is titled ‘REPEAT or REVENGE’ and followers of the two respective boxers are gearing up for the showdown. Bukom Banku called for a rematch when he lost the first bout. A challenge, Doobia gladly accepted and it comes as no surprise to many that this fight is being put together.

Both Doobia and Banku hail from the north and it will make it a return home and an opportunity for them to also bring their exploits to the people.

Bastie (Doobia) Samir is a native of Bimbilla in the Nanumba North District of the Northern Region of Ghana and alongside younger brother Issah Samir are impressive boxers in their prime.

Meanwhile, Braimah Kamoko (Bukom Banku) is said to be coming from Tumu in the Sissala East District of the Upper West Region of Ghana.

As discussions are ongoing, followers of boxing and fans alike should brace themselves for the June 30th date.
