Anbariya Sunni community donates to flood victims

Following persistent reportage on the devastating effects of the floods that hit most parts of the region, the Ambariyya Sunni community has made a donation to the national disaster management organization.

The Ambariyya Sunni community today donated relief items worth Ghc 3,854,900 to the National Disaster Management Organization for Onward distribution to the flood affected victims in the northern region.

Presenting the items, head of the Ambariyya Sunni community Sheikh Abubakr Saeed mentioned that this gesture was the third in a row since they embarked on such phillantropic initiatives.

Northern regional coordinator of the national disaster management organization, Alhaji Abdulai Hindu in receiving the items on behalf of the affected victims, lauded the faith group for their kind gesture and promised that the items will be deployed to the targeted victims.

He rallied for more support to mitigate the plight of the victims, since government alone he stated, can’t handle the situation.

It will be recalled that the spillage of the Bagre Dam, and unpredictable rain pattern ravaged some parts of the region, resulting in the loss of lives and destruction of properties.
