The ruling new patriotic party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for the Yendi constituency Alhaji Farouck Aliu Mahama has schedule to hold a community sensitization program against the deadly Covid-19 pandemic in the Yendi Munucipality.
The event schedule to take place on Saturday 21st March 2020 in the Yendi Municipality,the gesture is under auspices of Partnership for Poverty Reduction (PPR) a non-profit making organisation established by the son of the first Muslim Vice president of Ghana, is aimed at educate constituents against the Novel Coronavirus disease.
The gesture by the NPP parliamentary candidate is also aimed at instituting safety measures in the constituency to control the spread of the deadly coronavirus in the area.
Free hand sanitizers face mask and other protective gears will be distributed among people of the Yendi constituency.
The deadly Coronavirus has been declared a global health emergency by the World Health Organization (WHO).
Last week, the Ghana government officially confirmed that the country has recorded its first two cases of the coronavirus.The coronavirus cases have since increased to 16, with over 399 contacts traced by the Ministry of Health.
This has led to some travel restrictions into the country, with President Akufo-Addo also announcing a ban on all social gatherings and sporting activities.
