ALHAJI ABU HASSAN RHYZO’S MANIFESTO LAUNCH ENDS SUCCESSFULLY

A front runner in the Northern Regional Football Association chairmanship race Alhaji Abu Hassan Mahamadu Rhyzo has successfully launched his campaign manifesto for the October 18 polls with a call on delegates to massively endorse him during the election.

At a well-attended colourful gathering at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium on Thursday, Alhaj Rhyzo said he commands the required expertise to transform football in the Northern Region.

The manifesto titled Transforming Northern Football Through Visionary Leadership has fourteen key areas of development of the game including ensuring Good Corporate Governance, setting up a Regional Database of Football, Human Resource Development with football in mind and setting up functional Metro/Municipal/District Football Associations across the three Northern Regions (Northern, Savanna and North East). On this, Alhaj Rhyzos said only seven out of the over twenty districts in the three Northern Regions (Northern, Savanna and North East) had functional football associations. He said when given the nod, he would ensure that in every district there is not only a football association but a functional one with an office which he said he would liaise with various district assemblies to secure rooms as offices.

Speaking at the launch, Alhaj Rhyzo touched on the various key highlights of the manifesto and said his experience working in public administration is what he will duel on to ensure things are done differently to get good results in the management of football in the Northern Region.

The manifesto also had areas such as ensuring a structured and proactive revival of juvenile and grassroots football, providing a zonal registration support, setting up a player pool marketing system with media partnership and visibility as an overriding theme.

Alhaj Rhyzo also looks to set up a revolving fund for referees dubbed Referees Travel Revolving Fund aimed at financing travels of referees to and fro match venues.

He said he would organize at least an annual coaching clinic(s) with national team handlers in attendance and also ensuring an infrastructure and logistical support to district football associations and teams.

Alhaj Rhyzo promised to restructure and energize the Division 2 League and women football and instituting an annual award and soccer festival and the setting up of a Hall of Fame for Northern Football.

He mentioned the likes of Mohammed Choo, a two-time Ghana Premier League top scorer in 1978 and 1982, Alhaji MND Jawula, Coach Mashud Didi Dramani among others as people he would induct into this Hall of Fame.

He said when given the nod his administration will set up a player welfare and support desk to provide mentorship to players.

Two sets of surprise packages were revealed at the launch. One was a charade to give out seven footballs to seven lucky clubs in attendance. The likes of Pearlpia Ladies, Yelizoli FC of Zabzugu and First Class Soccer Academy among others received footballs as a surprise.

The second surprise however caught everyone in awe with a display of ten trophies which he would use to present to teams who will win the next Division Two League if he is elected into office. Among them was a giant trophy for the overall winner of the upcoming Division Two League.
