Abudu’s Complete Funeral Process, Thank Gov’t for Peace Roadmap

Leader and Regent of Dagbon from the Abudu gate, Bolin Lana Na Abdulai Mohamadu has expressed gratitude to the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, for his bold initiative and steps and exemplary leadership aimed at restoring peace to Dagbon.

Thanking the president to the measures taken to ensure the performance of the final funeral rites of his father the late Ya Na Mahamadu Abdulai, the Bolin Lana said the people of Dagbon have suffered from the age-old, Abudu-Andani conflict, which has resulted in the under-development of the area.

According to him, the conflict has turned brothers and families against each other and friends into foes.

“…It has cost us lots of precious lives,” he said.

The leader of the Abudu faction further indicated that the performance of the funeral of his father, the late Na Mahamadu Abdulai has lifted the dark clouds that have been hanging over Dagbon and Dagombas everywhere, giving way for progress, peace, development and placidity.

He added that with the final funeral rites of the late Ya Na completed, it’s a sign of true and lasting peace for Dagbon and Dagombas. He assured that unity and genuine reconciliation will be the order of the day and the new path the kingdom will chart.

In a statement of solidarity and readiness to coexist and give chance for peace, the Bolin Lana assured the President that he and the entire Abudu royals are willing and ready to lend helping hands to the Andani’s.

The Bolin Lana made this known on Friday, 4th January 2019, when he paid a courtesy call on President Akufo-Addo at Jubilee House, in the company of elders of from the Abudu royal gate.

Bolin Lana, Naa Abdulai Mahamadu also expressed gratitude to the Committee of Eminent Chiefs, led by the AsanteheneOtumfuo Osei Tutu II, the Nayiri of the Mamprugu kingdom, Naa Bohagu Abdulai Mahami Sheriga, and the Yagbonwura, Tuntumba Boresa I, for their relentless efforts in helping find lasting peace to the Dagbon chieftaincy crisis.

The President, Nana Akufo-Addo on his part thanked God for the successful performance of the final funeral rites of the late Ya Na Mahamadu Abdulai with all the customary rights that are due to him as a Ya Na”.

He also praised the Bolin Lana for his commitment towards development and the restoration of peace in Dagbon
