The Northern Regional chairman of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) Mohammed Baantima Samba, as part of efforts to prevent and contained the spread of the deadly COVID – 19 in the region, has on Saturday 28th March 2020, donate thousands of hand sanitizers to various radio, TV stations and other security agencies in the region.
The Northern Regional Communications Director of NPP, Sule Salifu who led a team to distribute the items on behalf of chairman Samba, stated that the donation is a personal initiative of Chairman Samba to support media houses and other security agencies since they have been left out in the donation so far in the region.
He noted the media houses and the security agencies play a key role in the fight against the deadly diseases in the region.
Therefore he said it is important to equipped these institutions with these protective items to enhance their safety to enable them continue discharging their duties in the fight against the deadly COVID – 19 in the region.
“Chairman observing the donation so far, the media houses have been left out in the distribution of protective equipment and he felt that this is not the best. And so, he thought it wise to donate this as his personal support to various radio and television stations in the region so that they can protect their staff and people who visit their offices since they engage clients and so many people on daily basis”.
Most of the managers at the various radio and TV stations who received the items on behalf of their staff expressed their happiness and thank the NPP Northern Regional chairman for the kind gesture.
