Fake Soldier Arrested By Tamale Police

The northern regional police command has apprehended a 34 year old self styled military man in the Tamale metropolis.

According to the metropolitan police commander Superintendent Dinam Zoiku, the imposter, Issah Abdul Mubarik, an unemployed, and a Native of Bawku visited the Tamale District police station dressed up in military uniform to lodge a complaint of his stolen motorbike some months ago.

According to the Supt Zoiku, the self styled soldier further lied to police investigators that he was soldier with the 6BN here in Tamale. However, luck eluded Mubarik, after series of investigations revealed; he was not a soldier as claimed and subsequently led to his arrest.

A search mounted by the police at his Dungu residence, led to the discovery of military uniforms, boots and other military accouterments, which he claimed belonged to his grandfather, who is an ex-service man.

Superintendent Dinam Zoiku has meanwhile, cautioned the public most especially the youth, to desist parading themselves as security personnel before the law catches up with them.
