• Saudi Philanthropist provides school and other infrastructural projects for Gukpegu-Tua Community

AL- HUDAIBIA RELIEF SERVICE –GHANA, a not for profit organization, has handed over a 12 unit classroom block with an office complex at Gukpegu-Tua, to the Islamic council in the Northern Region.

The facility which also includes a mosque, clinic and a borehole were funded by Alsayida Luululwa Alzaward, a philanthropist business women in Riyard in the kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under auspices of the World ASSSEMBLY OF MUSLIM YOUTH (WAMY).

The facility is expected to serve as a community basic school and an Arabic Instructors training center for the northern region.

Speaking at the handing over ceremony at Gukpeku Tua, the Director of Al-Hudaibia relief service, Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim, stated that the facility formed part of measures taken by the Government and people of the kingdom of Saudi Arabia to support Ghana in the promotion of circular education and also providing primary health care to deprived communities.

Dr. Mohammed also mentioned that his organization is making the necessary arrangement to turn the facility into a permanent Arabic training college in Ghana.

He however called Muslim parents to take advantage of Government’s policies on free education and the ongoing programme by the GES to train Islamic Arabic Instructors to ensure that Muslim children acquire the necessary knowledge and skills in order to compete on the job market. 

The Director of AL HUDAIBIA also commended the Islamic Education Unit and the Ghana Education service for their commitments to producing professional Islamic Tutors and further urged the trainees to take their lessons seriously.

’’ It is important for beneficiary’s communities in the metropolis to develop interest in the maintenance of the facility’, Dr. Mohammed added.’

Speaking to Diamond News after the handing over, the first vice-chairman of the Islamic Council, Sheik Awal Napari, commended the AL-HUDAIBIA Relief Services for providing the facility to Gukpegu- Tua and its environs, saying this would go a long way to improving the training of Arabic teachers in the Region and the country at large.

In his speech, chief of Gukpegu –Tua, Naa Alhaji Issah Sufian, admonished his people to take advantage of the school by enrolling their wards for a brighter future.
