Preparation are far advanced ahead of the investiture of His Royal Majesty YaaNaaMahamaAbubakari (NaaGariba II) in Yendion Friday

The ceremony is expected to host several personalities including, the president Nana AkuffoAddo, the three eminent chiefs,AsanteheneOtumfouOsei Tutu, Yagbonwura, NayiriMahamiAbdulaiShariga and the president of the national house of chiefs TogbeAfedze XIV among othersare expected to graze the occasion

Other dignitaries include the former president John DramaniMahama,MPs of Dagbon traditional area and various chiefs who would be paying homage to the new king of Dagbon

Thousands of people from all walks of lives are also expected to arrive in Yendi for the coronation ceremony.

The kingmakers of Dagbon led by the Kuga Naa Adam Abdulai, after successfully performing the final funerals rites of the two late kings of Dagbon selected Yo-Na AbubakariMahama, as the new Yaa-Naa of Dagbon traditional area.

A protracted chieftaincy dispute between the Abudus and Andanis following the murder of Yaa-NaaYakubuAndani II in March 2002, left Dagbon skin vacant for 17 years. But following a successful funeral rites, a new Yaa-Naa has finally been selected.

Meanwhile there is heavy security in Yendi and its surrounding communities ahead of the event to ensure a smooth coronation. Briefing the media about the security arrangement ahead of the historic event, the public relations officer of the Northern Regional police command DSPYussifTanko said personnel have been stationed at some strategic points to monitor the event

He has however called on residents of Yendi and other people who will be participating in the ceremony to cooperate with the security, saying the security will arrest and prosecute persons who are found with unauthorized weapons at the event.
