• Ghana Police confirms arrest of fugitive, CEO of Menzgold, Nana Appiah Mensah in Dubai

The Ghana Police Service, has confirmed the arrest of Nana Appiah Mensah, (NAM1) Chief Executive Officer of Menzgold Limited, in Duba.

The Ghana Police, said it has started engaging the Dubai authorities on the next steps and assured the public that due process would be followed.

A statement issued by the Public Affairs Directorate, and signed by its Director-General, Assistant Commissioner of Police David Eklu, said Ghanaian officials had visited NAM1, who was in the custody of the Dubai Police.

It stated that on Sunday, January 13, Ghanaian officials in Dubai were informed by the Emirati Officials that they had already arrested NAM1 as at December, 7, 2018 to facilitate the investigation on suspicion that he had been involved in gold trading deals, which had gone bad within the jurisdiction.

“The Police Administration on Wednesday, January 9, confirmed report that an arrest warrant had been issued for the arrest of NAM 1 and two other directors of the company on charges of defrauding by false pretences,” it stated.

“That same day an Interpol alert was trigged to facilitate the search for him globally”. Media reports on Monday indicated that NAM 1 was arrested in relation with his dealings with the United Arab Emirates based company, Horizon Royal Diamonds.
